Corvinone
Corvinone is a red grape grown around Valpolicella and Bardolino. Despite its similar name, it has a separate variety record from Corvina.
A separate catalogue identity
The Italian Vitis Database records Corvinone under national catalogue code 328 and lists no synonym on its sheet. Rauscedo describes large pyramidal, winged bunches and large elliptical berries, contrasting with the smaller bunch description given for Corvina.
Vigour and wine use
The nursery characterises a vigorous, productive vine with late budbreak and medium-late ripening. It is commonly used with other Veronese varieties and may undergo grape drying. This is a description of customary use, not a substitute for the current rules of an appellation.
