Corvina

Corvina is a red grape associated with the Veronese hills, particularly Valpolicella and Bardolino. Its precise historical origin is left unknown in the technical profile.

Recognising the vine

Rauscedo describes five-lobed leaves, relatively small winged bunches and elliptical blue-black berries. The profile emphasises well-exposed sites and dry conditions for sound ripening. Compact bunches can be more vulnerable to grey rot.

Blending and drying grapes

The profile describes its use with other local grapes, including Rondinella and Corvinone, and its role in dried-grape winemaking. These associations do not establish current legal blend percentages. Corvinone has its own catalogue identity and should not be counted as a Corvina synonym.
