Teroldego

Teroldego is a red grape closely associated with the Rotaliana plain north of Trento. The nursery profile describes a productive vine that benefits from suitable training and an airy growing environment.

The vine in the vineyard

Rauscedo describes large three-lobed leaves and elongated pyramidal bunches with small wings. Thick-skinned berries and good colour potential are part of its account. Low fertility of the basal buds explains the profile’s preference for long pruning.

Colour and structure

Its general wine description combines deep ruby colour, acidity and structure with a light almond-like aroma. Damp seasons bring greater concerns about bunch rot and sour rot. The sheet mentions genetic affinities with other grapes, but those statements are not converted here into an independently verified pedigree.
