Monastrell
Monastrell is a red grape associated with Mediterranean Spain and known as Mourvèdre in France. Its regional associations include Murcia and Alicante.
Identity and growing conditions
Rauscedo describes late ripening, an upright growth habit and a preference for warm, well-exposed sites. The medium, compact bunch has rounded, thick-skinned berries, while the leaf is rounded and five-lobed.
Wine styles and uses
The nursery records structured reds and uses in blends or ageing. Its description is evidence of winemaking potential, not a required alcohol threshold or an appellation specification.
