Vermentino
Vermentino is a Mediterranean white grape grown in Italy, Corsica and Provence. Its regional names should be reconciled before adding more variety entries.
Rolle, Pigato and Favorita
Pl@ntGrape records Rolle and Vermentinu among its French propagation names and identifies the Italian names Pigato and Favorita. Its origin account differs from the nursery’s Spanish-origin suggestion, so this entry does not claim an established birthplace.
Morphology and wine
Pl@ntGrape describes deeply divided leaves with five or seven lobes and slightly elliptical berries. It associates the variety with warm, dry, less fertile sites and white wines with floral and pear-like aromas. Acidity can be limited, so a universal high-acid profile would be misleading.
