Tempranillo

Tempranillo is a Spanish red grape also grown under the names Tinta Roriz and Aragonez in Portugal. Several regional names belong in this entry rather than being counted as extra varieties.

Identity and growing conditions

Rauscedo describes a large five-lobed leaf and an elongated, compact, winged bunch with rounded medium berries. It notes a preference for exposed, relatively dry sites and possible damage from excessive sun or hot winds.
