Pignolo

Pignolo is a Friulian red grape associated with Rosazzo, Buttrio and Premariacco. The nursery describes late ripening and relatively low but consistent production.

Small berries, variable leaves

Rauscedo distinguishes biotypes by leaf form and wine characteristics. The commonly described material has small, deeply cut three-lobed leaves and small cylindrical bunches. Its small round black berries have thick skins, providing a more specific illustration brief than a generic red-grape cluster.

Structure and ageing

The technical profile describes wines with substantial structure and acidity, a fruity character and capacity for ageing. The vine suits temperate conditions and clay-limestone soils in its account. Canopy management matters because the profile identifies susceptibility to powdery mildew.
