Trebbiano Toscano

Trebbiano Toscano is the white grape known as Ugni blanc in France. The two names are kept within one entry rather than counted as separate varieties.

Identity across countries

Pl@ntGrape identifies Tuscany as its Italian origin and documents the French name Ugni blanc. Its description includes very long bunches and round berries that may turn slightly pink when overripe. The shared Trebbiano element in other grape names does not establish identity with this variety.

Wine and distillation

Pl@ntGrape describes relatively neutral dry whites and base wines for quality spirits. Rauscedo also records its role in Cognac and brandy production. The vigorous vine needs support in windy conditions, and prolonged summer drought can impair the crop in the nursery account.
